Reproductive medicine has gone through a tremendous evolution in the last decades. Technology is advancing at a very rapid pace and will probably totally change our way of thinking about procreation and family building in the coming years. Embryo selection - and in the near future modification - will enable us to genetically ‘enhance’ our children. Gametes will be manufactured in the lab, derived from stem cells. This will be the end of gamete donation and menopause, and might enable homosexual procreation and ‘solo’ reproduction. Uterus transplantation might one day allow men to carry a pregnancy. Huxley’s views on reproduction have almost all become reality. The main question is “are we ready for this...?”
